Arya Vysyas are a Trading caste of South India, who primarily from Andhra Pradesh. They are spread over other parts of South India in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka as well.
They use the title 'Shetty' in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and 'Chetty' in Tamil Nadu. Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari is the main Goddess or Kula Devatha of Komatis. The community is an affluent community and has been engaged in business or trade. Komatis are Telugu language speakers who speak the same language in other states like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka as their mother tongue.
